Angelovski opted for the standard formation and starting 11, of course without COVID-19 positive Elif Elmas. The only surprise was that Bejtulai got the start instead of Ristevski who was usually the first choice.
Macedonia did not have the start they wanted as it was clear the players feel a lot of pressure. Despite that, a lucky own goal by Kololli in the 16th minute broke the dead lock for a Macedonian joy.
In the 29th minute terrible miss understanding between goalee Dimitrievski and CB Velkovski. Hadergjonaj seized the occasion to score a lob goal and equalize the score.
Just four minutes later Velkovski redeemed himself for the mistake. He used a free kick by Bardhi to head home bringing back the lead.
The second half was goalless, but tensed. Dimitrievski saved Macedonia from entering extra time with a great double save in the injury time.
