Dejan Blazhevski, Stefan Spirovski join Vardar

Blazhevski was one of the additionsIn efforts to win the domestic league title and make some noise in Europe next summer, Vardar officially announced the signings of Dejan Blazhevski and Stefan Spirovski.

Besides keeper Tome Pachovski, who was added earlier this month, Vardar officially signed two more players on Friday in attacker Dejan Blazhevski and midfielder Stefan Spirovski. Vardar was desperately looking for wingers and reached common ground with free agent Dejan Blazhevski who recently terminated his contract with Azeri side Xəzər.

Spirovski, meanwhile, comes to Vardar from Bulgarian club Beroe. Just like Blazhevski, Stefan also had his contract recently terminated, making him a free agent.

Spirovski signing his contract

Both Blazhevski and Spirovski are fringe national team players who haven’t experienced much success abroad, but there is no question they are good signings for the Macedonian league. Blazhevski is a proven player in Macedonia after his stint with Turnovo, while Spirovski will provide some much needed depth in midfield as Vardar has been looking to replace Filip Despotovski in the starting lineup.

If you are a fan of Macedonian football, then you have to applaud Vardar for investing some money on its team. Hopefully that will encourage the other clubs in the league to do the same and thus raise the quality of play in Macedonia. That will ultimately be beneficial to all fans in seeing much better football on the field.
