Darko Stojanov on trial with Lokomotiv Plovdiv

Central defender Darko Stojanov (22) is currently on trial with Bulgarian side Lokomotiv Plovdiv.

Darko Stojanov, a central defender who spent the past season with Bregalnica Shtip, is currently on trial with Bulgarian top division side Lokomotiv Plovdiv.  The Bulgarian club reported on its official website the 26 players attending their training camp in Bansko, and seven of the players are on trial, including Stojanov.  If he were to impress Lokomotiv Plovdiv, thus leading to a contract, Stojanov would become teammates with fellow Macedonian Dragi Kocev.  The Bulgarian side will participate in the UEFA Europa League qualifications later this summer.  The club finished in only 6th place on the table but since they reached the domestic cup final against the eventual league champions Ludogorets, Lokomotiv Plovdiv was guaranteed a place in the Europa League, even by losing the cup final.

Stojanov is coming off a very good season with Bregalnica in which he scored 4 goals.  He is a tall defender who is left footed.  Darko has been capped once for the Macedonian U21 national team.  Before Bregalnica, Stojanov was under contract for Vardar.
