Shkendija defeated Vardar 2:1 while Pelister and Rabotnichki played a goalless draw in two of the most interesting 1/8 final Cup matches.
Shkendija defeated Vardar 2:1 in the match that attracted the most attention in the first legs of the 1/8 final of the Macedonian Cup. The hosts took the lead first through Vručina in the 7th minute who successfully converted a penalty but Vardar equalized about 10 minutes later when Grncharov scored a goal. In the second half, Shkendija managed to add another goal when Alimi scored a beauty directly from free kick, thus giving his team a lead which does not guarantee their access to the 1/4 finals at all.
Game highlights:
Pelister and Rabotnichki only played 0:0 in the first leg of the second most attractive match, at least before the kick-off. Both teams were playing really careful and were focused on not conceding rather than scoring. However, both teams had one perfect opportunity to score – Pelister missed a penalty, while Rabotnichki’s Siljanovski hit the post in the later phases of the match. In any case, another match where the winning side will be determined in the second leg.
Renova are practically into the quarter finals after they defeated Gostivar 1:4 in the first leg away from home, while Kozhuf Miravci has also secured a good advantage over Napredok, defeating them 2:0. Horizont Turnovo and Bregalnica have also played 0:0, while Sileks did not use the home advantage to defeat Gorno Lisiche and only played 1:1.
