The defensive midfield has his contract with Hungarian side Fehérvár set to expire in June, so the club decided to let him go and make some profit while still can. Serie B side Lecce is his new destination where he joined left back Leonard Zhuta who is there since the summer.
This is a good move for Boban, a step forward in his career as Lecce is a solid Italian club who last season got relegated from the Seria A and this season is fighting to win promotion.
Nikolov arrived in Lecce on Monday where he had the medical exams, while it is expected the club to make his move official Tuesday afternoon at an official presentation. The club so far hasn’t revealed the lenght of Boban’s contract.

With his signing for Lecce, now there are 5 Macedonian players in Italy. Besides Zhuta who is also at Lecce, the other three are in Serie A: Goran Pandev at Genoa, Ilija Nestorovski at Udinese and Elif Elmas at Napoli.
At Lecce he will have a strong competition for the first 11.
