Belasica with positive impressions from Viareggio

BelasicaThe football club Belasica from Strumica played for the fifth time on the annual Viareggio Cup tournament – Coppa Carnevale in Viareggio, which is known as the unofficial world cup for youth teams.

Belasica's youth players followed the footsteps of their idols Goran Pandev and Aco Stojkov who were scouted by FC Internazionale Milano in 2001 on this tournament. Pandev and Stojkov are not the only successful stories from Strumica, as Belasica is well known for it's great youth football school which produced many Macedonian national team members.

40 teams from whole world participated in this year's tournament and Belasica was drawn in very tough group with Italian clubs Torino and Bari and Colombian Independiente Santa Fe. Besides the three defeats, the coach Jugoslav Trencovski has positive impressions from the overall performance:

 – "Personally, I see this as a successful performance besides the bad results. I see it as positive because of the experience and the new perceptions that we got about the football overall. I knew it before, but now I can confirm that we are behind the European and the clubs from the other parts of the World in the aspect of the organization also the perception of the football game. The match fitness was our strong side and we can compete with the other bigger teams on that level, but our players are far behind on the technical and tactical performances", said Trencovski.
"We are far behind with the professionalism and our football urgently needs new blood on the organizational level and professionalism. We need professional coaches with constant education for them. We need new law for sports. And the most important fact is that we need finances", added Belasica's coach.

The tournament in Viareggio was nice opportunity for exchanging experiences, making contacts and affirmation of young talents. Besides the contacts with the coaches from Torino, Indepentiente, Lazio and other clubs, Trencovski had the chance to meet and communicate with Juventus' manager Caludio Ranieri.

Several scouts and managers followed Belasica's matches and some of them had positive marks for Ace Miskovski, Todi Vasilev, Gorgi Markov and Gorgi Tanusev.

Belasica confirmed their participation for the next year's tournament in Viareggio, but in the meantime the young players from Strumica will participate on the famous tournament "Kvarnerska rivijera" in Rijeka, Croatia that will be played in May.
