Bayern Munich director Paul Breitner has confirmed that the club wish to sign Lazio star Goran Pandev. The 24-year-old Macedonian has attracted the attention of a host of top clubs with his Serie A and Champions League displays for Lazio.
“We want Goran Pandev,” declared Breitner. “We have already come to see him three times and we will return to watch him again on October 31.” Former German World Cup hero Breitner, is now a director at Bayern Munich, and was present at the Stadio Olimpico during the Real Madrid game.
It is believed the Bundesliga giants, who already signed Luca Toni from Serie A in the summer, are willing to pay up to €30m for the 24-year-old. Pandev’s current contract runs until 2010 and he has recently stated that he has no interest in leaving the Biancocelesti. Other clubs said to be interested in his signature include Chelsea, Tottenham, Barcelona, and Real Madrid themselves.
