David Babunski will fight for the trophy in Japan’s cup after his team reached the grand final earlier today.
In his first season i Japan, David Babunski could win a trophy. His team failed to win the league, but will play in the Emperor’s Cup final.
Earlier today his Yokohama F·Marinos eliminated cup holders Kashiwa Antlers in the on legged semi-final. After 90 minutes the score was 1:1, but his team scored a later winner in the 118th minute of the extra time.
Babunski remained on the bench for the whole game after previously being regular starter in the last six league and cup matches combined.
The grand final will be played on January the 1st on neutral venue in Saitama with a kick-off at 14.40 Japanese time. Babunski’s rival will be Serezo Ōsaka. Yokohama last time won the cup in 2013.
