Angelovski summonses 18 players for opening qualifier

Coach Angelovski at today's press; photo: FFMMacedonian national team coach revealed the squad list for the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers opening game against Albania away.

Macedonia starts its sixth World Cup qualifications on 5 September with a road game to neighboring Albania. For that occasion senior national team coach Igor Angelovski call up 18 players. Big blow for him is the absence of Palermo winger Aleksandar Trajkovski who is injured and definitely ruled out for the game.

First time in the national team is goalkeeper Kostadin Zahov who earned his place thanks to his brilliant form for Shkendija in the Europa League qualifiers. Back in the team due to good form are Milovan Petrovikj, Ezgjan Alioski and after a while Besart Ibraimi, as well as Ferhan Hasani who was previously injured.

The WC qualifier against Albania will be played at the Loro Boriçi stadium in the city of Shkodër with a kick-off at 20.45 CET. Macedonia will start preparing starting from 29 August with training sessions every day in Skopje. Albania will play a home friendly against Morocco at the same venue on 31 August.
