Aleksandar Stankov returns to Viborg

Aleksandar Stankov on the ballAfter his brief loan spell expired with Horsens, Aleksandar Stankov returned to Viborg where he will get a chance to stick.

Aleksandar Stankov did not see much playing time at Horsens, a Danish second division club, but the striker still received good news, at least for now. Viborg, from the Danish top division, has agreed to bring him back. On Monday, Stankov joined Viborg players on the first day of their winter preparations. He will get a chance to stick if he does well during trainings and friendlies.

Stankov also got a chance to talk to Viborg head coach Johnny Mølby. After his first day back, Aleksandar told local Danish media that he was happy to be back.

It is still possible that Stankov could get loaned again later this month, depending on what Viborg does on the transfer market. As for his twin brother, Antonio will remain on loan at Vejle, another second division club in Denmark. Antonio has received more consistent playing time.

Aleksandar has a contract with Viborg until the summer of 2016. So, he has six months to prove his value, or he will likely be looking for a new club at the end of the season. At the midway point, Viborg sits in 10th place in the 12 team league.
