We are nearing the end of the autumn season and round 16 from 18 is next. 5 scheduled matches and dare we say all the matches look exciting starting with the opening one on Saturday - Vardar against Milano.

Vardar will host Milano on Saturday in front of their fans on Gradski Stadium in Skopje. After the suspension for Vardar's stadium and the several away matches played, Vardar finally will play in front of its fans. This can be described as a match that is worth '6 points'. Two top of the table teams, visitors second, hosts third, with only point difference on the table - a direct battle for reaching Makedonija Gjorche Petrov on the top. Vardar are undefeated at home with 5 wins and only 1 draw, while Milano as visitors have won 6 points from 6 matches. The first match this season ended with a 1-3 victory for Vardar in Kumanovo and was a sweet revenge for last year's shameful 9-1 defeat when Vardar was playing with youngsters. Vardar's current form guarantees them no easy match as they are on a 6 matches winless streak. Milano played a midweek cup match and won 0-2 against Sileks.

On Sunday, we have 4 more matches. In Bitola, Pelister will meet Renova. The hosts are in enormous need of points because after a streak of bad results have found themselves being last but one on the table with only 12 points gathered so far. They did noted a 3-1 win against second-league side Shkendija in the cup Wednesday. At home, they have won 11 from their 12 points and they must continue in that manner if they are to avoid the last places. But, Renova is far from easy opponent, especially for Pelister. Pelister doesn't have a win over Renova in 7 matches and when playing as hosts Pelister have won only 1 point from 3 matches. Renova has collected 9 points as visitors so far.

Pobeda in Prilep will take on table-leaders Makedonija Gjorche Petrov. On Goce Delcev Stadium Pobeda plays good football and it has always been like that. That is why this match should attract attention. Needless to say, visitors have produced best football so far in the season and most deservedly are on the top of the table. Makedonija have won most of the points at home, but looking at the table for away matches once again they are the leaders. Their mutual matches score is rather balanced and perhaps that is only one more of the reasons why the odds for win of any of the teams are equal. Bwin.com offers 2.45 for both teams and 3.15 for a share of points.

Sileks against Turnovo Horizont marks this week 'lower part' match. Teams are neighbours on the table with only point separating them. Being hosts Sileks take the favorites role but so many teams this season we saw that teams with similar quality can beat anyone any time. Turnovo has won the first match in this season between these two as hosts with 1-0 score, so Sileks is next on move now.
Odds from bwin.com: 1.35 4.00 7.00

The only team that is favorites as visitors according to the bookmakers is Rabotnicki when they visit Metalurg. The champions have played a cup match in Ohrid against Renova and they drew 0-0. Metalurg are still bottom-placed but their style of play is improving and we might see them climbing the table very soon. Rabotnicki are closing the 4 teams group that are chasing Makedonija on the top. With 22 points Rabotnicki are 5th and have seriously entered the chase for a UEFA cup spot. In the first match this season Rabotnicki won with a late goal scored by Ilijoski in the added time of the second half.  This can be described as a match that might be full of emotions since Metalurg's coach and 3 players used to work/play for Rabotnicki.

What to expect in 2009!? Another year has left and a new one has arrived. We can't say that 2008 was successful for the Macedonian football in general, but can we predict what will happen in this 2009? Maybe if we summarize all the events from last year we can at least have a good look in what should we expect to happen in 2009.  Details...

FFM, go after Amauri, Almunia and Streit! Because FIFA’s rules do not apply for the Macedonian football federation as they wanted to give Macedonian passports to foreign players Washington and Osa, we are suggesting that FFM should also try and get Amauri, Almunia, Streit etc in the Macedonian national team.  Details...
