Preview: Round 15

E-mail Print PDF
After the national team match against Montenegro, we are back with the championship as top priority. Round 15 is scheduled for this weekend. It will be opened with Rabotnicki - Pelister match on Saturday.

Champions Rabotnicki will host Pelister on Saturday. Both teams don't have season as they wished and both teams are far from the final positions from last season. Rabotnicki are fifth on the table at the moment, but they do have an impressive home record. They are undefeated, while at the same time Pelister have only won one point away from 'Pod Tumbe Kafe'. Rabotnicki managed to win over teams like Vardar and Milano at home, while Napredok and Pobeda have been stealing points on 'Gradski'. In the last round Rabotnicki won with a convincing result over Turnovo Horizont, but they played far from convincingly. Pelister, on the other hand, had extremely tough match against arch-rivals Vardar. The first time these two teams met this season we saw a 1-1 draw, despite Pelister played with a player less big part of the match.

On Sunday, once again, Renova will host Vardar in Ohrid. This match will be the fourth meeting between these two teams in  this season. Vardar won 3-1 in the championship, while Renova eliminated Vardar from the cup with an aggregate score of 3-1. Vardar have definitely fallen into small crisis and therefore have lost the first place on the table and are third at the moment. They don't have a victory in the championship since round 8 (against Turnovo Horizont 2-0, played on 5th of October). Renova, on the opposite, are in good form and their 'home' stadium in Ohrid seems like a lucky place. 2 wins over Pobeda and Rabotnicki and a win over Vardar in the cup is their balance.

Top-of-the-table Makedonija Gjorche Petrov will host Sileks. The hosts have been more then impressive at home and so far no team has managed to score a goal in Gjorche Petrov. Sileks, on the other side, have only won 2 points away from home and scored only 2 goals. However, looking at the last round results every team must think twice before thinking they will have easy job against Sileks. Sileks noted the highest win so far in the season 7-1 against Napredok. Makedonija also won 0-1 against Metalurg. The match between these two in Kratovo in the first part of the season ended 1-1.

Wounded Napredok will meet Pobeda. Having lost 7-1 in the last round certainly things are not looking good in the team from Kicevo. They are now placed on the last position with same number of points with Metalurg. Nevertheless, Napredok always plays more or less good at home and Pobeda will certainly have no easy job here. The Prilep team are in the middle of the table with 15 won points so far. Average result for them so far and a tough trip in front of them, surely.

Bottom of the table derby this round will be the match between the newcomers to league 1. Turnovo Horizont will host Metalurg. Both teams are around the bottom of the table almost all the time so far, with a small trip for Turnovo to the middle and back. Matches like this are extremely important for both teams. In the first match the result was 1-1 so a win for Turnovo on Sunday might just prove very important for the later stages of the championship.
