Cup 1/8 final 2nd leg preview

E-mail Print PDF
Second legs from the 1/8 final cup matches are next in line. 7 matches will be played tomorrow, while probably the most interesting, Renova against Vardar, will be played on Thursday in Ohrid.

Milano has gained one-goal advantage in the first leg when playing against Metalurg away. However, nothing can be taken for granted especially after seeing Metalurg stealing a point against big favorites Vardar in the last league match. Surely an interesting match in prospect where the hosts must be considered as favorites, nevertheless, mainly because their advantage from the first round, but their current great form must not be neglected as well.

Current title-holders Rabotnicki are visiting second-league side Nov Milenium having gained one goal advantage in the first leg. Nov Milenium are very well remembered by their last season cup successes when they managed to reach semi final. Rabotnicki has the advantage but that guarantees nothing when they will take on Nov Milenium, especially because the favorites are visitors and cup matches always hold surprises.

In the second league teams clash, Miravci will be hosting current top-of-the-table in the second league Drita. First match ended in a 1-1 draw which certainly promises a great match. Both teams are in great form - Drita being leaders on the table, Miravci without a defeat in 8 rounds, or since 9th of August.

Sileks is visiting Belasica. In the first match Sileks won 2-0, the same result with which Sileks noted a very important victory in the play-out match at the end of the last season against the same opponent. Belasica had some complaints about the last match, so here's their opportunity for a revenge and a chance to qualify for the quarter final.

Turnovo Horizont is looking like they are heading into a mission impossible when they take on Pelister after they lost 4-0 in the first leg. The visitors will play their match without coach Husein as he is suspended for one month. Whether the hosts will have the strength to make a surprise, it remains to be seen.

Makedonija Gjorche Petrov against Pobeda is possibly the most interesting match to be played on Wednesday. The first meeting ended 1-1 and both teams are entering this match with a different emotion gained from the last league round. Pobeda won away from home against Pelister, while Makedonija noted their first defeat in the season.

In the second meeting between two second league teams, Ohrid will try to annulate Shkendija's 3-0 lead from the first round. Surely Shkendija have made excellent advantage and Ohrid will have to give all their best if they want to have any chances for reaching quarter finals.

On Thursday, there will be another match in Ohrid. Suspended Renova will host Vardar there. This is the third meeting of these two so far in the season. Vardar won 3-1 in the first league meeting, while the first leg from the cup ended 1-1 in front of empty Gradski Stadium. Nov, Renova has the chance for the first victory against Vardar and a very important victory that might be. Vardar under the lead of Tasevski still hasnt noted a victory, while Renova already won once in Ohrid when they met Rabotnicki.
