According to the September FIFA/Coca-Cola World Rankings List, Macedonia moved down for 2 positions and is now in the 56th place. Macedonia played only one match in August, the friendly match against Luxembourg, but despite the victory our national team is now placed two positions lower on the table. From the 9th qualification group for the WC 2010, Netherlands, our 10th of September opponent, is highest placed team as they are 4th on the table. The next opponent, Scotland, are on the 16th place, while Norway are 34th this month. The only team from that group that is placed lower on the standings in comparison to Macedonia is Iceland - they hold the 107th place. Spain are still on the top, with Italy and Germany following.
