Melbourne Croatia booked Preston Makedonia a one-way ticket into the 2008 Foxtel Cup final series following a 1-0 victory over Oakleigh Cannons at Knights Stadium last night. The Lions had to sweat on the outcome of the match to determine whether they would get a chance to defend their 2007 crown, and the Knights didn’t let them down winning a tight one.

The Cannons went into the round 22 catch up match needing all three points in order to leap-frog Preston Makedonia and steal the last remaining finals position.
They went close to scoring on occasions but were unable to capatalise, the Knights able to head into the post-season on the back of another victory.
It was their 14th for the season and they finished the home-and-away rounds just a point behind minor premier Green Gully, who they’ll get a crack at on Sunday in the Qualifying Final.
The Cannons had to settle with seventh position on the Foxtel Cup table.
The result confirmed an Altona Magic Vardar/Preston Makedonia elimination final at Paisley Park on Saturday night while the Cavaliers, Knights, Heidelberg United and Richmond make up the top six.

Round 26 Round Up
The Macedonian Derby was played between Preston Makedonia and Altona Magic Vardar and Altona came out on top with a 4-0 win at their home ground Paisley Park Soccer Complex. The Vardar win was witnessed by some 2000 Macedonians. Despite losing the last game, Preston Makedonia have made the final six and will face Vardar again this coming Saturday at the same ground.

What to expect in 2009!? Another year has left and a new one has arrived. We can't say that 2008 was successful for the Macedonian football in general, but can we predict what will happen in this 2009? Maybe if we summarize all the events from last year we can at least have a good look in what should we expect to happen in 2009.  Details...

FFM, go after Amauri, Almunia and Streit! Because FIFA’s rules do not apply for the Macedonian football federation as they wanted to give Macedonian passports to foreign players Washington and Osa, we are suggesting that FFM should also try and get Amauri, Almunia, Streit etc in the Macedonian national team.  Details...
