Macedonian champion Rabotncki today will start the Champions League qualifications away in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, on the farest east spot of Europe. The match starts at 18.00 CET.
FK Rabotnicki Skopje won the double in the latest season of the Macedonian 1st League, the championship and the national cup. But today, Rabotnicki is not the same team what will face Inter Baku since many players left the club and joined local rivals FK Vardar Skopje, while leaders Nderim Nedzipi and Ertan Demiri went abroad. Many new players came plus couple of the youth team joined, but it isnt sure weather they can play with the spirit of the team that won the double. A totally new squad, still without good preparations and only a few friendly matches played this summer. Although according to UEFA Rabotnicki had the bigger coeficient than Inter Baku, due to the recent events the home team is favourite to win the first leg match. The match will be played at the Tofik Bakhramov Stadium in Baku with capacity of 30.000 starting at 18.00 CET or 21.00 local time. Referee is Cyril Zimmermann from Switzerland, assistants are Antonio Luis Fernandez and Thomas Habegger, while 4th official is Alan Bieri, all the three from Switzerland as well. UEFA delegate is Jean-François Crucke from Belgium and UEFA referee observer is Jiři Ulrich from the Czech Republic. vs.
