Goran Slavkovski 19 years old talented striker Goran Slavkovski finally spoke about his national team future. He followed his heart and choose Macedonia, the country of his origins. Sweden was an option for him as he is born there, but he decided to play for Macedonia.

According to the daily newspaper Utrinski Vesnik, Slavkovski will make his debut for the U-21 national team in the qualification match against Estonia in the end of this summer. Slavkovski is currently in Skopje with his father Rade Slavkovski and his croatian manager Jozo Palac where he applied for a macedonian passport.

Asked why he choose Macedonia over world football power Sweden, Goran Slavkovski for Utrinski Vesnik said:

- My parents are from Macedonia, so that's my country and I think that it's logically for me to wear the macedonian football jersey. I've already talked with Goran Pandev a few times who I truly respect and I think is a real leader of the team.

About his assignment in the U-21 team he said:

- I will play in coach's Mirsad Jonuz team in the last two matches of the qualifications (against Estonia and Norway). My decision is final and I will be available for Jonuz on the end of the summer. Although I don't know the national team players I think that we wont have any troubles on the field because that's the place where I do my best.

Slavskovski is born in Skrävlinge, a little town near the city of Malmö on 8th of April 1989. Both of his parents are Macedonians that immigrated to Sweded. He started his career in local club  FBK Balkan.  In 2004 he moved to Malmö FF where he played for only one year before moving to Inter youth club. There he became the youngest player in the black-and-blue history that have played in the Serie A. He spent the second half of this season on loan at Championship side Sheffield United FC.
