Last rounds preview

E-mail Print PDF
Because of the political elections in Macedonia on June 1st, the last rounds in both first and second league, will take place tomorrow, Saturday 31st of May 2008.

Let's start with League 1. Rabotnicki against Milano once again in this season, for the 4th time. Rabotnicki has the bigger success in their mutual matches winning all 3 games, including the one in the cup final. Now, this match will be played without particular motive regarding the table positions. Rabotnicki are sealed on the first, while Milano have confirmed the second place. However, this can be the last match for Rabotnicki for several players that are on their leaving, at least in the national competitions. Milano will probably be lead by Dzemail Zekiri in this match, after Gjore Jovanovski's dismissal. Vardar will be visiting Napredok in a match that can mean a lot for the hosts. The visitors are still in an uncertain situation regarding the organization problems, but will have to forget all that if they would like to finish this season
in a good way. They will probably once again play with the youngsters only to be strengthened by experienced Bajevski. Napredok are still not safe and in this very last match they get to decide about their destiny. With only a point above Sileks, the hosts need the win here and they will avoid the 9th place. But, any other result will get them in a worse position and they will have to wait the result from Sileks - Pelister match. And, exactly that match can be one of the more interesting in the last round. Pelister are safe on the third position and will play in UEFA cup in the next season. Sileks are ninth on the table and if they finish there they will have to play a play-out match against Belasica, most probably. The visitors are certainly traveling relaxed and a small example for that might be the fact that they have already released Miranda and Junior on the deserved vacation. That is why Sileks is the team that needs the win in this match and furthermore they should expect Napredok not to win and/or Makedonija to lose against Bashkimi, if they want to avoid the 9th place. Makedonija Gjorche Petrov should have played the last match at home, but they will search at least a point against Bashkimi in Bitola due to their stadium suspension. Bashkimi have avoided direct releagtion and are safe on the 10th place, so in this season this will not be their last match, but they will play against Miravci from second league in the play-out match. The 'hosts' will only need a point in this match and they will be safe. Cementarnica against Renova in a match that doesn't holds much pressure. Cementarnica are last on the table and will be playing in second league in the next season. Renova might want to hold the 5th place in case Vardar does not get that license from FFM needed for European competitions. Shkendija cannot reach place 10 so together with Cementarnica they travel down. Pobeda are in the golden middle and the season is finished for them as they cannot go up, nor down.

In Second League, many things are known, but many will be solved in the last round. Turnovo and Metalurg will take Cementarnica's and Shkendija's places. Miravci will play against Bashkimi in the match that will bring another team that will join/stay in league 1. For the 4th place two teams lead a battle. Belasica are currently 4th while Skopje are 5th. Belasica have two points more. Skopje is to play against Drita - a team that has nothing to play for anymore. But Belasica will visit Lokomotiva - a team that are strrugling to avoid relegaion. Vlazrimi and Karaorman are relegated. It remains to be seen which is the third team that will leave this competition and which is the team that will have to play another deciding match against a team from lower league.
