Round 32 preview

E-mail Print PDF
Two rounds to go and new excitements are scheduled for this Sunday. While the top 4 places are already sealed, every other place on the table remains an open battle.

The biggest attention will most probably go on Gradski Stadium in Skopje. The city derby between Vardar and Rabotnicki will take place on Sunday. Despite Rabotnicki will be champions and Vardar will finish on 4th place, this match can attract big attention. The reason is well-known. Vardar in the last round have fielded a squad with 9 youngsters and have lost 9-1 to Milano. Whether the regular players will continue with their boycott and youngsters will have to take the whole responsibilty once again, or we will see Vardar as it should be, remains to be seen. In both ways, the match should be interesting.
2nd placed Milano will host Makedonija Gjorche Petrov. Milano are safe and sound on the second place and will play in UEFA cup in the next season after obtaining the license from the football federation of Macedonia. The visitors are 7th with 41 point. They are 4 points above the 9th position and, at the same time, they are on level points with Pobeda and Renova. If the visitors note a victory here, they will get involved in the battle for the 5th place which eventually might lead to Intertoto Cup. Two conditions are needed for this kind of situation. First, Makedonija must obtain the license and second, if Vardar fails to obtain a license from FFM. After the initial refusing, Vardar have used their right to appeal and final outcome will be seen in several days.
Pelister will be playing against Napredok in Bitola. Big celebrations are planned in Bitola after Pelister's success in this season and the UEFA cup place in the next season. The hosts are safe on the third position and it is the visitors who are under pressure on this match. Being 8th on the table means nothing currently, but being only two points above 9th placed Sileks and with two rounds to go, it certainly means a lot for Napredok. They have tough schedule as besides this game, they are hosting Vardar in the last round of the season, so they definitely need the points.
Pobeda against Sileks in Prilep. Similar to Makedonija Gj. P. Pobeda might just grab something out of this season, but they have also been refused the first time they asked for a license. Sileks are 9th on the table and a play-out match is expecting them against the 4th placed from the second league (currently Belasica) if they stay on this position. These two facts are enough for to promise us another great match in Prilep. Pobeda have played very interesting match against Napredok in the last round, while Sileks played great against Renova and very deserving won 3 points.
Renova will be facing Shkendija. The third team that hopes for a negative answer from FFM towards Vardar's request for European license is Renova. Their wish is even bigger if we have in mind that Renova have already managed to get that license and a 5th position for them might just mean that they will finally play in Europe. Their opponents for today, Shkendija, are in bad position. 11th on the table with 3 points behind 10th placed Bashkimi. They've managed to win in the last round against Bashkimi and their hope is certainly restored, but a lot should be done if they are to save themselves at least from a direct relegation, but in the end, of course, not everything depends of them only.
Bashkimi will be trying to seal their 10th position in the match against Cementarnica. After the defeat in the last round Bashkimi have once again found in a worse position, but still 3 points advantage over Shkendija can prove enough if Bashkimi does not allow a surprise in front of their fans. The visitors are on the last place on the table with 26 points gathered so far and 6 behind their Sunday's opponents. Relegation looks like a destiny for them.
