After the great victory of 2-0 against top 10 FIFA-ranked Croatia, Macedonia has only one match left to play in this qualification tournament - away to Israel on 21st of November 2007. Both teams are with no hopes left for EURO 2008, but both teams had amazing victories over their opponents last Saturday, with Israel winning over Russia 2-1 and significantly lowering Russians' chances for qualifying.
Israel are known for their great home play where in this campaign only lost to Croatia 3:4, and managed to hold England to a scoreless draw. Furthermore, if we have in mind the first meeting in Skopje, where Israel won 1-2, then certainly Israel are to be considered favorites in this game. They have young, but very talented squad with a bright future ahead of them. Macedonia will have to play without Pandev once again as he's out due to an injury, and without one of the best players in the match against Croatia and a goalscorer Naumoski as he has a yellow cards suspensions. However, though this game will not affect the table, it is sure that both teams will play for the pride as they did in the last round, too. What's more both teams would definitely like to improve FIFA and UEFA ranking in order to have a better pot position for the next major tournaments. We should see open, attractive game which will be played fair, and of course, may the better team win.
