With under average performance by both sides which were hit by withdrawals and missed some of their biggest stars, the attendance on the Gradski stadium saw an unenertaining match with no goals. The most entertaining part of the night for the Macedonian football fans was the power failure which interrupted the match for almost half an hour.  

The national team of Macedonia continued the bad run with no win in front of the fans in Skopje for 3 years. Without seven key players who missed this match because of injuries and tiredness, they were powerless against the "super eagles" who were also hit by withdrawals and played in Skopje without some of their famous stars. 

The Macedonian players started the match with small pressure on Nigeria's goal and even had a canceled goal because of a dubious offside. In the second half of the match, the Nigerians played better and on the beginning had the biggest chance on the match when Makinwa got alone in front of the goalkeeper, but the keeper Miloshevski made a fantastic save and kept the 0:0 score which was held until the end of the match.

Macedonian coach Srecko Katanec used this last match in front of the EURO 2008 Group E qualifier against Russia, to test some players that were left out of the squad for longer time and also some debutants, so Boban Grncarov, Vance Shikov, Vanco Trajanov, Dushan Savic and Zoran Baldovaliev got the chance to play against one of the strongest African national teams.
