Noveski stays in Mainz

Nikolce Noveski, one of the best Macedonian defenders has decided to sign new contract with the German club Mainz although he had many offers from other bigger clubs from Germany and England. The 28 years old defender has signed new 3 years long contract and will stay in Mainz until 2010.

Noveski is member of Mainz since 2004 and this summer his contract expired. After the relegation of Mainz to the 2nd German Bundesliga it was expected for him to move in other bigger club. The English clubs Everton and Tottenham were very interested to sign him on free contract, but he decided to continue leading Mainz's defense.
In the last 3 seasons he played 91 matches for Mainz and scored 4 goals in the German Bundesliga.

Nikolce Noveski is born on April 28, 1978 in Bitola. He is 190cm tall and weights 87kg. He started his career in Pelister from Bitola. In 1998 he moved to Hansa Rostock and in 2001 he was transfered to Erzgebirge Aue. Since 2004 he is the the best defender of Mainz and regular member of the Macedonian national team.
