It’s very sad that the destiny of the Macedonian football lies in the hands of people who probably haven’t kicked any ball on some Macedonian stadium and not to mention some bigger European stadium. It’s very sad that instead of the people who have written the history of the football in Macedonia and people who have played and lifted trophies on stadiums in Macedonia and Europe, now businessmen control our football. It’s very sad that the people who have been refereeing on some important international matches now are far from the football and instead of them, the rules book for referees in Macedonia is written by some “referees” who haven’t refereed a single minute even from the Macedonian First League.
It’s sad that even the coach Srecko Katanec has been involved in all this and he’s being used as “live shield” for protection. But it’s even sadder to see Katanec playing their game. I had a “picture” in my mind that my Slovenian friends gave me for Katanec. I believed that Srecko Katanec is the most decent, honest and professional coach in the world. But I was very sad and disappointed that I had to erase that from my mind. I still can’t understand how come Katanec is so protective for the president of FFM? I still can’t understand how come Katanec keeps backing and protecting the current leaders of FFM when it’s more than clear that they made so many illegal acts? (The General Secretary even resigned from his position and he’s even prosecuted because of document falsification) I still can’t understand how come a professional coach like Srecko Katanec make so unprofessional move stating that he’ll leave the Macedonian national team if the president of FFM is changed from his position. Why is that? Is Srecko Katanec a personal coach of the president of FFM? NO! Is Srecko Katanec hired and paid personally by the president of FFM? NO! Srecko Katanec is coach of the Macedonian national team and he is hired and paid by the Football Federation of Macedonia and as a professional coach Srecko Katanec should remain with the Macedonian national team no matter who is president of the FFM. Too many questions and I would really like to have the chance to talk with Srecko Katanec so he can give some answers.
I have some other questions too but I don’t know who should I designate to. Here they are: Until when will the people who are supposed to lead the football in Macedonia will be only Café and restaurant owners? (Dako Pancev – the former European golden boot and Macedonian football player of the century has his own “Café 9” and Emil Bozinovski the candidate for new president of FFM and former best Macedonian referee and important UEFA/FIFA international referee, after quitting his referee job because of bad working of FFM now owns a pizzeria). Until when the most important positions in the FFM will be occupied by people who’s only connection with the football was the betting? (The president of FFM Haralampie Hadzi Risteski owns 10 local bookie shops “Joker” in his hometown Prilep and the former Secretary General Lazar Mitrovski owned a local bookie called “Laki Sport” in Skopje) Until when will the stadiums in the cities of Tetovo and Kumanovo be horror destinations for some teams instead of being football temples? (almost every month there’s incident involving the Albanian “friendly” hosts) Until when will the players and referees be scared to death to travel to some stadiums in Macedonia? Until when will all the Macedonian teams be playing their European matches only on the stadium in Skopje because the stadiums in the other Macedonian cities aren’t good enough for the UEFA standards, and just because of that UEFA and FIFA have donated millions for their reconstruction? Until when the money donated by UEFA and FIFA for reconstructing and building of stadiums and pitches in Macedonia, will be used for reconstructing and building offices and shops behind the stands on the stadiums and than renting them for money? Until when will the Macedonian stadiums be empty and the matches of the Macedonian most famous club Vardar or the current champion Rabotnicki will have lower attendance than the match with lowest attendance from the league of Kosovo which is not even recognized by UEFA and FIFA?
Yes, I know too many questions. Don’t worry I have many more but I really don’t know who should I ask and even if I ask I don’t know if I will ever get the answers. I thought that some of my mysteries will be solved this weekend on 17th March 2007, when on the regular yearly congress the delegates were supposed to vote for the support of the current president. But I forgot something very important. I forgot that there are a lot gravediggers in Macedonia, precisely 56 gravediggers of the Macedonian football. 56 from total of 106 delegates gave the support to the president. Notice something strange? Yes there are 106 football delegates in Macedonia. J Yes can you imagine that, Macedonia has more football delegates than professional football players. Well, the president of the FFM Mr. Haralampie Hadzi-Risteski is very smart man. Every community in Macedonia that has at least 6 football clubs has delegates in the congress. Many football clubs in smaller places in Macedonia have been formed in order to have at least 6 clubs in that county. So now there are some small villages in Macedonia that don’t even have a single goal post but have 6 registered football clubs and have their own delegates who vote for the support of the president Hari. But that’s another story. I’ll write something about it later. Don’t worry the current situation of the Macedonian football is inexhaustible source for funny and interesting stories who can even make you cry.
