2.MFL East & West overview of second half-season opening round

With Round 15 started the second half-season in both second league groups. Struga and Labunishta played a draw in the promotion derby, Borec continues winning, important wins were recorded by Sasa, Pelister, Teteks and Korabi as Tikvesh, Gostivar and Kit-Go unexpectedly dropped points.

Right in the opening round of the second half-season took place a real promotion battle. Leaders Struga hosted runners-up Labunishta on neutral field in Ohrid. The match was very intense with many heavy tackles from both side which resulted into few bookings. Both teams had several scoring chances but none managed to score and the match ended by sharing the points.

Pelister strengthened well during the winter transfer period and right at the start that gave a result. With one goal scored in each half they defeated Vlazrimi 77. Each goal came from the Ljamchevski brothers. The visitors managed to score a consolation goal, but it was too late.

Bottom-placed Teteks clinched a much needed win. After a 1:1 opening half they beat Gostivar with a successfully converted penalty by Petkovski. Previously, Tetesk took the lead after visiting captain scored an unlucky own goal, while Gostivar leveled the score five minutes from time thanks to Ljama.

Very interesting finish saw the fans present at the clash between Gench Kalemler and Skopje. The goals came late. First, three minutes from time Nastevski brought the lead to the visitors, while few minutes later Beluli equalized from the spot.

The round in this group got concluded on Sunday when Goblen hosted Korabi in a battle for avoiding relegation. The visitors from Debar celebrated a huge come from behind win.

Leaders Borec started as the stopped, winning. Gjorgjievski early broke the deadlock after a perfect cross by Toni Mirchevski. After the break Gjorgjiev doubled the lead and at this point it was obvious that Borec will get the points. Later they added a third.

Runner-up Tikvesh disappointed by playing a draw away to relegation struggling newcomers Detonit. Captain Mojsov broke the home defense 16 minutes from time, but substitute Gjeorgievski stunned the visitors two minutes before time. Very important point for Detonit in the battle for avoiding relegation.

Third-placed Kozhuf did not seize the occasion to take over the second place. But they had a very tough encounter as Bregalnica came to visit. The match ended in a goalless draw.

Probably the biggest surprise today happened in the mining town of Makedonska Kamenica. With a lone goal scored by Dodevski twelve minutes from kick-off, Sasa defeated promotion candidates Kit-Go. The home side was last-placed before this round and thanks to this points they are now back in game for getting out of the zone.


A real avoiding relegation battle was played between Partizan and Vardar, both equal on points. The match had a late start so it ended around half an hour after all the others. The winner was decided in the 4th minute when Eftindjioski scored for the hosts who recorded a much needed win.
