1.MFL overview of second half-season opening round (Video)

In the beginning of the second half-season Shkendija immediately extended the lead after defeating title rivals Vardar by a lone goal. The the match was overshadowed by 30-meter goal denied for Vardar. Akademija Pandev smashed Makedonija GjP to come third as Rabotnichki slipped at home with an injury time penalty goal against Renova. Sileks and Shkupi shared the points, same as the relegation derby between Pobeda and Belasica.

Right in the first round after the break took place the derby between the two title rivals. Holders Shkendija hosted famous Vardar in a match that will bring headache to the Federation as the referees did not whistle for a clear goal score by the visitors. But first it was Shkendija who scored.

The scandalous event took place in the 38th minute. Filip Najdovski received a ball around 30 meters from the home goal and decided to fire a shot. He did it so well that Zahov did not stand a chance, the ball hit the cross bar, touched the ground behind the line and than went back in the field. The referees did not interrupted the play and Vardar was not awarded a clear regular goal.

Interestingly, this is the second time this season that Vardar is ripped off by the referees. In the first half-season another similar goal was scored that wasn’t seen by the referees.

The biggest surprise this season continued where they left. Akademija Pandev destroyed the Lions from Gjorche and and took over the third place. Doriev broke the dead lock from the spot after the same played was brought down in the visiting box. After the break the Academy added two more goals through Krstovski and Stojkov cementing the win.

Rabotnichki is the team the strengthened the most during the winter transfer window, but disappointed right in the first must win match. Renova had several scoring chances before Petkovski broke the dead lock bringing Rabotnichki the lead in the dying moments of the opening 45 minutes. The game went downhill for the hosts when Petrovikj was sent-off for a penalty foul in the 68th minute. However, Vlatko Stojanovski sent the ball wide.

The second penalty for the visitors proved to be worth. Vladimir Dimitrovski handballed in the box in the injury time and this time Mishkovski stepped in converting the penalty for a final draw.

The two bottom-placed and tied on points team faced each other but none managed to take the points. Pobeda took the lead through Efremov in the 19th minute, but almost two minutes later Belasica equalized through Gorgiev. And that was everything the relegation candidates did today.

Sileks failed to keep a two-goal lead against Shkupi and won a point instead of three. Georgiev and Rajković brought the comfortable half-time lead, but everything turned against the home side after the break. First Kocev scored a funny own goal on a header and in the injury time the referees overlooked when Viktor Angelov played with hand which lead to Veliu scoring an equalizer in the injury time.
